The story of our Bamboo fabric
The journey to find our Bamboo fabric
Julia's personal story
The founder Julia Washbourne herself has a sensitive skin and from time to time suffers from allergies and skin irritations, therefore she was on a mission to find
the most suitable bed sheets and towels for sensitive skin. Having worked previously as a Product Manager and Purchasing Manager of home and lifestyle products for a Germany company (that sent her to Hong Kong in 2006), she had come across bamboo fiber socks and bamboo fiber towels and just found them to be soothing and calming on her skin.
Not finding many options in 2010, and especially none that were reasonably priced, Julia decided to start her own bamboo bedding, towel and t-shirt collection.
Being used to complying with German standards, norms and strict quality control processes, Julia searched for the best manufacturing partner to start to work with on her new products.
Securing an excellent quality supply chain
Therefore being a pioneer and leader in bamboo bed sheets since 2010, Bamboa has worked incessantly to gain access to every part of the supply chain, starting with the source, the bamboo forests to the processing of bamboo into the bamboo yarn to the weaving into bed sheets.
Bamboa uses 100% bamboo fibers that derive from the sustainable bamboo forests.
